Dumar was a one-of-a-kind man who lived life his own way. If you knew Dumar, you knew that big smile, that unforgettable laugh, and a personality that could never be duplicated. He was genuine, bold, sarcastic, hardheaded, stubborn, and unapologetically himself. Whether he was making someone laugh, giving somebody a hard time, or speaking his mind, Dumar had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable. You never had to guess what he was thinking because Dumar was going to be Dumar, no matter what!
Dumar lived a full life and knew how to enjoy the things that made him happy. Whether he was cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, cooking up something good, sipping on a cold beer and saying “Dilly Dilly,” or watching his favorite shows, he knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. And heaven help anybody who tried to interrupt a good show or dinner time!
A proud Dallas Cowboys fan, Dumar stuck by his team through thick and thin. Some might call that loyalty; others might call it a lifelong test of patience. Either way, he never stopped believing! His family may have questioned his football choices, but nobody could question his dedication. We can only imagine him arriving in heaven, looking around for his recliner, asking what’s on TV, checking to see if they have cold beer, and making sure he doesn’t miss a Cowboys game. We can only hope the heavenly Wi-Fi is strong enough to stream it!
Dumar dedicated 16 years of his working life to Blackstone, where he put in the work and made connections and friendships along the way.
Above all, Dumar loved his family. His two sons, Keyshawn Embry and Adrian Embry, were among the most important people in his life and will forever carry a piece of their dad with them. He also leaves behind his beloved girlfriend, Felisha. His presence in their lives was special, and the memories they shared will remain close to their hearts forever.
Dumar’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. Those who knew him will forever remember his unforgettable catchphrases. You could always count on Dumar to say exactly what was on his mind, whether you wanted to hear it or not! Those words, his humor, and all the little things that made him who he was will continue to bring smiles and laughter to the people who loved him.
The house may be quieter now, but the memories of his unapologetic life will keep his spirit alive.
Your shift is over, your recliner is waiting, your beer is cold, and you no longer have to worry about the Cowboys blowing a lead. Your smile will never be forgotten, your laugh will always be remembered, and your memory will carry on forever in the hearts of those who love you. If laughter could keep a man alive, Dumar would have lived forever.
Rest Easy, “Do Me.”
