Marlene Betty Hammond age 88 of Belleville passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

Marlene was born July 29, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Jesse Frank & Mamie Gertrude Wortham Scobey. She enjoyed sewing, making candles and other crafts. She was devoted to her family. Her ministry work was very important to her including her many trips to the Philippines. Marlene and David have enjoyed living in Belleville since 1998.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bill Hammond; parents; brother, Tom Scobey; half sister, Louise.

Survivors include her children, Pamela & Rob Collins of Blytheville; Connie Hammond of San Mateo, CA.; and David Hammond of Belleville; brother, James & Maxine Scobey of No. Little Rock; grandchildren, Rachael Lee and Amanda Lewis; great-grandchildren, Rae Chapman, Alexa Chapman, Isabella Chapman, Jemma Chapman, Jordan Collins and Christopher Lewis.

A Celebration of Life will be 5:30 to 7:30 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Chamberlynn Country Club, 10614 Country Club Dr., Danville.
