Martha Benedict, 73 of Ola, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born June 22, 1941, in Aly, Arkansas to the late Washington and Gerturde (Smith) Stephens. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ilene Gagne. Survivors include her husband, Arlyss Benedict of Ola; daughters, Sabrina Bates of Ola, Terrie Woods and husband Larry Barton; sisters Billie Brister of Alabama, Charlene Wallace of Magazine; grandchildren, Michael Bates and wife Rabiye of Colorado, Ricky Bates of Glenwood, Kayleigh Barton; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Alayna Bates; stepchildren, Richard and Sarah Benedict, Jeffrey and Pam Benedict of Ola; step-grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, and Hannah. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at the Ola Assembly of God Church with Brother Don Lane officiating. Burial will be at Birta Cemetery, Birta.
