Martha Jane Whitbey, 74, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born on June 6, 1952, in Cabot, Arkansas, Martha was the daughter of Delbert Standridge and Louvna Roach Standridge. She spent many years caring for children as a daycare worker and preschool teacher, a role that reflected her gentle heart and love for others. Martha found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved shopping, spending time socializing with family and friends, watching murder mystery television shows, and, above all, she adored babies. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 53 years, Bill Dale Whitbey; her siblings, Lois Marie Hurley, John Standridge, James Standridge, Charles Standridge, and Margaret Freeman. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Barry Whitbey (Telah) and Bentley Whitbey (Rachel); her brother, Earnest Standridge; her grandchildren, Sierra Whitbey, Savanna Herring (Bryan), Corey Whitbey, Emersyn Whitbey, Jayden Whitbey, Kiya Whitbey, two great-grandchildren; Bryson Herring, and Peyton Herring; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
