Obituary

Martin B. Foster, Jr. Martin B. Foster, Jr., 94 of Havana passed away Friday, September 7, 2013 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. He was born March 3, 1919 in the Riley Community, Yell County, Arkansas to the late Martin B. and Emma Reola Quesenbury Foster. He was a cattle and poultry farmer. Mr. Foster was a member the Havana United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee, Sunday School Superintendant, and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Gideons International. He was also a member of the Moore's Chapel Cemetery committee for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Etta Brown Foster; his parents; three brothers, Hoyt Foster, Oresta Foster, infant Vestal Foster; four sisters, Zelta Sturdy, Faye Tygart, Ada Turner, and Helen White. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harry and JoAnn Foster of Danville; a daughter and son-in-law, Fern and Charles Yandell of Havana; grandchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and Mike Brannon, Stephanie and Bryan Whitson, Stephen and Kelly Foster, Allison and Kenny Akin; ten great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday, September 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Havana United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Seay officiating. Burial will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, Waveland. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:00 until 10:00 before the service. Pallbearers include Rocky Foster, Joe Hissom, Johnny Foster, Bill Stanley, John Foster, and Larry Turner. Honorary pallbearers are John Stanley and Don Smith. Memorial may be made to Gideon's Memorial Bible Program, P.O. Box 833, Danville, Arkansas 72833 or the Havana United Methodist Church building fund, 11158 Walnut Grove Road, Havana, Arkansas 72842. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
