Marvalene McKinnon age 85 of Rover passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her home. She was born June 7, 1927 in Wing, AR. to the late Flossie Wheeler. She was born, raised, lived and died in Wing Arkansas. Marvalene loved Fourche Valley School where she was the first female board member and later President of the board for 10 years as well as President of the PTA. She rarely missed a basketball game at home or away and was loved by all the Fourche Valley students and the community. Marvalene loved her cats, antiques, and making a garden. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star with Gravelly Chapter # 580. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Charles Conner McKinnon; son Don Louis McKinnon; best friend & cousin Lucy Jane Wood. Survivors include son Jon Charles McKinnon; daughters Laura June McKinnon of Fayetteville and Dr. Leah Jane McKinnon of Dallas, Texas. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 5, 2013 at Wing Community Church with Joe Yates officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00p.m. before service at the church. Pallbearer include Roy Hodges, Steve Matheson, Cory Lawrence, Gary Roberson, William Price & Gerald "Bubba" Dunham.
