Mary Alice Shurn age 102 of Dardanelle passed away, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her home. She was born September 19, 1918 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Walter Peter Smith and Winnie Emma L. House. She was of the Methodist Faith and was a member of the St. Paul CME Church in Dardanelle. She enjoyed attending church, attending annual Conferences, cooking, shopping, traveling, watching basketball, football and baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowesta C. Shurn Sr; one son, Terrence W. Shurn and three brothers, Rev. Lloyd F. Smith, Phillip M. Smith and William Washington.

Survivors include her children, Lowesta C. Shurn Jr. (Frances) of Clarksville, Arkansas, Walter W. Shurn of Dardanelle, Dennis D. Shurn of Dardanelle, Arkansas; one sister, Oshia Washington of Springfield, Illinois; and one grandchild, Byron A. Shurn of Richardson, Texas and a step grandson, Shawn Insalaco of Dallas, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Nebo Cemetery in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Wednesday, noon to 1:30P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle.
