Obituary


Maudie "Ann" Abernathy age 75 of Ola passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at
her home. Ann was born July 3, 1950 in Ola, Arkansas to the late Artemes & Ruby Wigley
Pledger. She was a member of the Birta Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a second mom to a lot of people who called her Nanny and Momma Ann.
She loved art, loved to collect rocks, and antiques. She loved all kinds of music.
Ann never met a stranger and was a very out going person. She always put her
family first. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Howet Pledger and
brother, Gerald Pledger.


Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Eddie Abernathy; daughters, Rhonda
Anderson (David) and Melissa Watts (Jeff); grandchildren, Julia Mills, Alex Mills
(Whitley), Mason Anderson (Ann), Madisen Watts, and Austen Watts; great-
grandchildren, Eli, Dale, Levi, Adalie, and Liliana; several other cousins, nieces,
nephews, and family member


Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, August 8, 2025 at Birta Bethlehem
Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Rickey Kimzey officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 7, at Cornwell Funeral Home
in Danville Burial will be private at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola.


Pallbearers include David Anderson, Jeff Watts, Austen Watts, Ricky White, Alex
Mills and Mason Anderson.
