Melvin Phillip Bailey age 86 of Sapulpa, Oklahoma passed away May 9, 2026 at Drumright Nursing Home in Drumright, Oklahoma.

Melvin was born June 24, 1939 in Stiller, Oklahoma to the late Casper Cecil & Leona Mae Tracy Bailey. He was a member of the Forrest Hill Southern Baptist Church. He was a coach/teacher for 9 years and then he was in administration for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Nell Vess Bailey. parents, brother, Casper Bailey Jr, sister, Violet Justice.

Survivors include his sons, Rod Bailey of Bartlesville, OK. and Glenn (Ronda) Bailey of Belton, MO., sister, Wilma Vess, grandchildren, Zane (Hillary) Bailey, Jessica (Camilio) Brockman, Bethany (Ryan) Thomas, Ara (Charlie) Brown, Evann Bailey, Leah Bailey, Siara Bailey,  6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, Shela, Lisa, Rocky, Debbie, Kieth and Kenneth.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 15,2026 at the Havana Cemetery in Havana, Arkansas.
