Obituary

Melvin David Stringer, age 76, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late James Stringer and Margie Faye Stringer. Melvin was a local businessman and owner of H&R Block in Pope County for approximately 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the co-founder of Dream Catchers, a nonprofit which provided hunting access to disabled individuals. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jason Stringer, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Tucker.

Survivors include his loved one, Zona Wells; two children, David Stringer and Aletha White; one brother, Jim Stringer; five grandchildren, Michael Stringer, Ryan Ford, Regan Lauckner, Jacob Stringer, Gabrielle Stringer; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, at the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. Johnny Minick will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church before the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Stringer, Michael Stringer, Cameron Lauckner, Ryan Ford, Tim Ritter, and Matthew Stringer.
