Mildred L. Hancock age 89 of Danville passed away December 1, 2012 at Arkansas River Valley Hospice in Russellville. She was born January 16, 1923 in Huntington, Arkansas to the late James Wesley and Mary Evelyn Cockrell Stroud Sr. She was a clerk for Arkla Gas and a homemaker. She was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church since August 11, 1940, 64 ½ years. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett "Bud" O. Hancock; brothers, James Wesley Stroud Jr; Robert C. Stroud; John D. Stroud; sister, Evelyn Marie Clifton. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law Mary Lou & Jim Douglas of Clarksville; son & daughter-in-law J.E. "Jim" & Sandy Hancock of Hot Springs; grandchildren Neal & Kim Douglas of Clarksville; Julie Douglas Currier of Clarksville; Madison Bailey &Bentley James Hancock of Hot Spring; great grandchildren Alex & Elizabeth Currier; Makenzie & Morgan Douglas of Clarksville; sister-in-law LaMoyne Hunt Stroud of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church before the service. Pallbearers include Tom May, Doug Miller, Dr. Forrest Moudy, Glen Mott, Bobby Redfern and Waymon Sides.
