Mildred Maxine Woodard Herring age 90, of Danville, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Maxine was born October 18, 1929 in Blue Ball, Arkansas to the late Virgie C. and Annie Merle Williams Woodard.
She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She also loved music. And as a member of the First Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir for years.
Her love for music extended to singing with her cousins at family reunions, music club specials and sharing some special songs with her neighbor Amairani, the Hospice aides and Carolyn Hummer, who has been a blessing to her and her family.
After moving from Arkansas to Dixon, CA., where she graduated from high school, she returned to Danville where she met and married Herstle "Buck" Herring. Being in the Army they were able to travel and live in many places like Germany, Georgia and Oklahoma to name a few, before returning to Danville and retiring.
Along with her love for music, she loved trips to Branson with her church and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herstle "Buck" Herring, her sister, Virginia Delle Cox and her brothers, Gerald Woodard and Gene Woodard.
Survivors who will miss her greatly include, her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jeff Welch of Jacksonville, Ar., grandson, Jeff Welch II of McKinney, TX. and granddaughter, Olivia Anne Welch McNeill and her husband, Wesley McNeill, sister-in-law, Hilda Woodard, nieces, Criss Narcum (Bob) and Lynette Pattison, nephews, Rod Woodard (Diana), Joey Woodard (DeAnna), Larry Nolan (Gisela), Danny Woodard (Patty), James Black (Jeanette), Johnny Baker, Bill Cox (Laura),Tim Cox (Suzanne), Thom Cox (Sheri) and Jonathan Cox (Jana).
Funeral service will Saturday September 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Danville. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 before the service at the church.
The family wants to send their deepest appreciation to the Hospice family for their help, care and support.
