He was Chairman of the Deacons at Calvary Baptist Church, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, and Church Treasurer. He also served as a former President of the Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, founded and chaired the Free State of Yell Fest, received Citizen of the Year Award and Chamber Member of the Year. Montie was a Lifetime Member of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police, serving many terms as president and was recognized multiple years as the Chief of the Year for Arkansas. He also served for over two decades on the Executive Board of Counseling Associates.
