Obituary

Octava Alexander was born November 7, 1916 in Casa, Arkansas and passed away November 25, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years and 18 days. She was a homemaker and worked several years caring for children the Southern Christian Childrens Home in Morrilton, Arkansas and Turley Childrens Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a faithful member and worker in the Danville Church of Christ for many years and also a member of the Catoosa Church of Christ when she passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tom Alexander; her parents, Virgil and Florence Green; and her sisters, Dimple Gilley and Edith Tanner. Octava is survived by her daughter, Janis Higgins and her husband, John, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Amy Higgins of Fort Worth, Texas and John Higgins, Jr. and his wife, Kaycee, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, John Higgins III and Cole Higgins; and a brother, W.J. Green and his wife, Katherine, of Springfield Missouri. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 29, 10:00 a.m., at the Danville Church of Christ. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery.
