Pearl Tougaw, age 96, of Havana, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, Arkansas. She was born February 21, 1925 in Havana, Arkansas, to the late Stirl and Ruby Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Orville Tougaw; her siblings, Erman Moore, R.L. Moore, Eva Lou Clemons, Jethro Moore, Betty Thompson, and Mildred Ross; and her son-in-law, Jerry Karnes.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Quinton Dale and Pat Tougaw of Kingston, Arkansas, Ron and Linda Tougaw of San Antonio, Texas, Barbara Karnes of Pittsburg, Texas, Dennis and Terry Tougaw of Burlington, Kansas, and Mary and Hoover Willard of Belleville, Arkansas, brother-in-law Bob and Lynn Ross of Kansas City, Missouri, 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Tougaw was a life-long member of the Havana Assembly of God Church, where she served faithfully. She was a mighty prayer warrior, praying by name for family and friends each night before bedtime. She, and her husband Orville, ministered through nursing home, hospital, and home visitation for many years. Mrs. Tougaw was an active member of Havana EH Club. She loved baking cakes and pies for EH scholarship fundraiser bake sales. Cooking for her family brought her much enjoyment. Family get-togethers always involved a huge meal! Family members remember with fondness her fried chicken, and the many desserts she loved to bake.
Services will be held Monday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Havana First Baptist Church with burial in Havana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, at Havana Assembly of God Church. Memorials may be made to the Havana Cemetery Fund, (PO Box 7, Havana, AR 72842) or Havana EH Club scholarship fund (PO Box 186, Belleville, AR 72824).
