Paul P. "Pete" Tilmon, age 93, a lifelong resident of Dardanelle, Arkansas, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 19, 1922 at Dardanelle to the late Willie A. (Bill) and Bertha May Dacus Tilmon. His marriage to Rachel Swilley Tilmon on December 21, 1940 lasted 72 years until her death on November 28, 2013. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for 60 years where he served as a deacon. He was employed by Thomas. V. Jones Lumber Company and Mobley Construction Company. Pete was a God-loving Christian putting his family and others first. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmom Bessie; two brothers, Buddy and Billy; four sisters, Bernice Bynum, Virginia (Tinsey) Avery, Oreta Taylor Tucker and Violet Wilson. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Les Church of Russellville; one granddaughter, Lezle Church Rupert and her husband, Jason, of Bentonville; one great-granddaughter and his namesake, Blair Tilmon Rupert, of Bentonville; his wonderful caregiver, Juanita Hernandez Branson and husband, Justin; loving neighbors, Jim and Johnnie Bailey, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, October 19, 2015 at Brearley Cemetery with Rev. Carl Fair officiating.
