RACHEL MAGALENE SWILLEY TILMON Rachel Magalene Swilley Tilmon, 90, a resident of Dardanelle, Arkansas, died on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 14, 1922, at Russellville, Arkansas to Frank and Maggie Methaney Swilley. She married Paul "Peter" Tilmon on December 21, 1940 in Dardanelle. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dardanelle for 60 years where she was a member of the choir and the Deborah Sunday School Class. She was employed by Dardanelle Public Schools and was a government grader for Valmac Industries. She was a superb southern cookalways preparing food for her family, friends, church, and community activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mom, Violet; four brothers, Marion (Johney), Dale, Richard, and David Swilley; two sisters, Billie Hicks and Marie Guilda. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Paul "Peter" Tilmon; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Les Church of Russellville; one granddaughter, Lezle Church Rupert and her husband, Jason, of Bentonville; one great granddaughter, Blair Tilmon Rupert, of Bentonville; one sister, Frances Swilley Fink, of Round Rock, Texas; one sister-in-law, Oreta Taylor Tucker, of Dardanelle, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Brother Ken Jerome officiating, under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Service.
