Obituary

Retha Mae Bowden age 88 of Belleville passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her home. Retha was born September 17, 1927 in Blue Mountain, Arkansas              to the late Alonzo & Mary Elizabeth Rogers Dickens. She was a member of the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bowden; son, Jimmy Moore Bowden; brothers, Jeff Dickens; Erven Lee "Buddy" Dickens; W.L. "Nappee" Dickens; Alvin Dee Dickens; sister, Lela "Faye" West; and Lois Dickens. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Johnie & Cindy Moore of Mt. Ida; daughters, Kathryn Bowden; Virginia & Frank Via; grandchildren, Stacy & David Marshall; Jordan Apple all of Belleville; Donna Moore of Mt, Ida; great-grandchildren, Marlayna & Jacob Braden; Payton Marshall, LaylaMae & Cali Lynn Apple; great-great-grandchildren, Parker Bishop, Joel Braden all of Belleville; sister, Zela Marle Hattabaugh of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark King and Rev. Ken Bunch officiating. Burial will be at Russell Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Josh Carpenter, Don Bland, Jim Bo Rogers, Dale Knight, Tony Martin and Jacob Braden.
