Robert Jackson “Bob” Cassity age 86 of Havana, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at his home. He was born November 25, 1939 in Pace, Mississippi to the late William Alvin “Bill” Cassity Sr. and Juanita Boss Cassity. Bob was a United States Army Veteran, and he was very proud to have served his country. He was also a member of the Western Yell Church of Christ. He was an owner-operator truck driver for Steel Haulers and National Carriers for many years. He went to work for Wal-Mart and drove over a million miles without an accident, he retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years of service. Bob was a very dear and fun-loving person, and loved visiting with everyone. He could also be aggravating at times. If you were around him very long, he would have you “gun-shy” with his every move. He leaves behind a lasting impression on those that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Cassity Sr. and Juanita Boss Cassity; his stepmother, Lorene Cassity; Willo Dean Inman Cassity; brothers-in-law, Jerry Dumas and Don Gililland and a nephew, Kenny Dumas.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley Cassity of Havana; his children, Twanna Cates and husband Loyd Joe of Havana, Billy Autrey of Camden, Candy Lambert of Camden, Sabrina Brasseur of Hot Springs, David Patterson of Coal Hill; siblings, Bill Cassity Jr. and wife Nancy of Sheridan, Pat Floyd and husband John of Louann, Sharon Gililland of Danville, Debbie Darbee and husband Kevin of Havana, Doyle Cassity and wife Lisa of Bismarck, North Dakota, Gail Fuchs and husband John of Blue Mountain; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lee of Havana, Ada Dalton of Booneville; grandchildren, Misty Vick, Aaron Autrey, Mason Autrey, Whitney Tidwell, Dawson Lambert, Shala Brasseur, Joey Patterson; great grandchildren, Jaden Perry, Myles Autrey, Haven Tidwell; nieces and nephews, Brian Garlin, Devona Garrison, Billy Cassity III, Jo Ann Maillet, Debbie Javoroski, Billy Catlett Jr., Christine Coffman, Patrick Darbee, Keri Defoor, Audra Moro, Doyle Ray Cassity Jr. and Johnathan Cassity, and many great nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, noon to 2:00P.M. at the WYC Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow at 2:00P.M. at the church with Owen Yandall officiating. Burial will be in Havana Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Autrey, Aaron Autrey, Mason Autrey, Dawson Lambert, Jason Floyd and Matt Taylor.
