Robert D. Johnston age 85 of Plainview passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock as a result of Covid 19. He was born February 27, 1935 in Plainview, Arkansas to the late Lee and Myrtle Johnston. Robert and his wife Billie were married for 66 years and she still sat on his lap. If you could imagine a legitimate love story, it was theirs. He was known for his hands, they were huge like bear paws. When you shook Dads hand, you shook a hand. A handshake showed him the character of a man. He was employed as Adams County Sheriff for 12 years, a member of the Drug Task Force, Ohio Masons, Lions Club, D.A.R.E. and he was a farmer for 55 years.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Billie Nell Johnston; three children, Robert Lee Johnston and family, Linda Daugherty and Family, Natalie Foster and family; one sister, Melva Martin; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 30, 2020, 4:00P.M. to 5:00P.M. at the Plainview Baptist Church with Joe Yates officiating. There will be limited capacity and all Covid 19 guidelines will be followed, social distancing, handwashing, and covering of the mouth and nose.
