Obituary

Robert "Bob" Von Spickelmier passed away peacefully May 18, at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and athletic excellence that touched countless lives.

Born in Pawhuska and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, Bob was the beloved son of Howard and Lucyle Spickelmier.

His deep Christian faith was evident from childhood, where he maintained perfect attendance at Central Christian Church in Enid - a testament to the devotion that would guide him throughout his life.

He attended McKinley Elementary, Emerson Junior High and Enid High School.

At Enid High School, Bob distinguished himself as an exceptional three-sport letterman in football, basketball, and track, setting state records in track that showcased his remarkable athletic talent and competitive spirit. His State of Oklahoma decathlon champion trophy is in the EHS trophy case.

After graduating in 1958, he continued his education at Oklahoma State University, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bob served his country honorably in the US Army before settling into a successful career as an investor in land and real estate.

The love of Bob's life was his devoted wife, Connie. Together, they built a beautiful family that became the center of Bob's world. He was the proud father of sons Ron and John, and daughters Lori and Jennifer. His joy multiplied with grandchildren Michael, Sampras, and Portia, and Taylor, and great-grandchildren Percephalles and Fitzthomas.

What made Bob truly special was his unwavering dedication to his family. He made time to play catch with each child and grandchild, becoming their most enthusiastic fan at every sporting event. His presence on the sidelines, cheering louder than anyone else, created memories that will be treasured forever.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom, and sister Deanna. He is survived by his loving wife Connie, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his sister Lynn.

Bob's life was a beautiful example of faith in action, showing that success is measured not just in achievements, but in the love we give and the lives we touch. His legacy lives on in every game of catch, every cheer from the stands, and every act of faith and kindness his family carries forward.
