Roberta (Sue) Arianna (Buckley) Cowgill a four year resident of Belleville, AR and a longtime resident of Colona, MI entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville.
Born May 23, 1936, the 2 nd child of 10 to Kenner Edward Buckley and Bertha Bernice (Smith) Buckley in Pike, KY.
At the age of 15 Roberta met and married the love of her life Clarence Duane Cowgill. The two married October 12, 1951. They were blessed with six children, 19 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-greatgrandchildren.
Roberta was an avid squirrel and mushroom hunter. She loved making quilts and helping others with their seamstress needs. Her grandchildren were the light in her life and her love was unconditional. Not many people could beat her at a game of Boggle and she always had her dictionary nearby.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 70 years, Clarence (Hoppy) Duane Cowgill and their 6 children, Freda Ann Craig (Phillip) of Belleville, AR, Duane (Wayne) Clarence Cowgill of Colona, MI, Patricia "Gail" Sammons of Belleville, AR, Donna (Wendy) Carlene Boldwin of Russellville, AR, Edward (Donnie) Donald Cowgill (Carla) of Lake Wales, FL, and Buckley (Ronnie) Ronald Cowgill of Painesville, OH, 19 treasured grandchildren, Rebecca L. (Craig) Siebert (Ken) of Mishcot, WT., Phillip "Cameron" Craig (Debra) of Danville, AR, Roberta (Robin/Birdie) Renee Doctorman (Heath) of Oklahoma City, OK, Freddy (Buddy) Wayne Sammons (MyKal Ann) of Jonesboro, AR, Dorenda (Dorie) Carlene Zehner (Shon) of Benton Harber, MI, Heather Sue Ann Shindeldecker (Keith) of Baroda, MI, Steven "Bradley" Zehner (Ashley) of Covert, MI, Holley Marie Willis (Darius) of Kalamazoo, MI, Kristopher Duane Cowgill (Chelsey) of Three Rivers, MI, Dustin Ronald Cowgill (Wendy) of Bradenton, FL, Rebecca Renee Hosterman (Justin) of Painesville, OH, Tishia Swope (David) of Fred, TX, Brian Edward Cowgill (Ashleigh) of Belleville, AR, Rachel Sue Cowgill of Winter Haven, FL, Brandon Wilson Denham of Lorain, OH, Heather Mishler (Scott) of Winter Haven, FL, Faith Lee Ann Cowgill of Lake Wales, FL.
Roberta is also survived by four caring sisters, Bernice Lee Mckie of Ludington, WI, Donna Sue Bednorz (Eugene) of George West, TX, Sandra Dean Belcher of Beeville, TX, Bobbie Kaye Steckleberg (Dale) of Beeville, TX, one brother, Terrance Patrick Buckley (Diana) of Coloma, MI, and three sisters-in-law, Billie "Louise" (White) Buckley of Corpus Christi, TX, Jerry Jean (Miner) Cowgill and Luming Buckley of Coloma, MI. As well as many many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenner E. and Bertha B. Buckley, mother and father-in-law, Clarence A. Cowgill and Ruth B. (Woodworth) Cowgill, one son-in-law, Freddy Wayne Sammons, two grandchildren, Laura Ann Craig and Ileah Suzanne (Zehner) Baker (Lonnie), one great-grandson, Ryan Cowgill, four brothers, Oscar Thomas Buckley of Hartford, MI, Kenner Franklin Buckley of Coloma, MI, Donn Edward Buckley of Pike, KY, and Danny Ray Buckley of Corpus Christi, TX, four brothers-in-law, Phillip Ray McKie, Larry Belcher, Verlyn Cowgill, and Ernie Cowgill, two sisters-in-law, Joann (Skeen) Buckley and Dee Dee (Smith) Buckley and two nieces and two nephews.
The family would like to thank Chambers Hospital's doctors and staff in Danville, AR and Mitchell's Nursing Home and staff for all of their care and concern. We appreciate all of your help and dedication towards their healthcare.
