Ronald Lynn Taylor, age 73 of Dardanelle passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born November 20, 1948 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Albert and Addie Mae Hodges Taylor. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church, a 1966 graduate of Dardanelle High School and a 1970 graduate of Arkansas Tech University. Ron began his 40-year banking career in 1973 with Arkansas Valley Savings & Loan. In 1988, he went to work for Bank of Dardanelle where he retired as Chairman, President and CEO after 25 years. He was very active in his beloved community and served as an alderman on the Dardanelle City Council, was a board member at Dardanelle Hospital, and also coached many youth sports. Ron was also Chairman of the Dardanelle Parks & Recreation Committee where he was instrumental in the development of Merritt Park. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Susie Chivers Taylor of Dardanelle; two children, Kami Taylor Coleman (David) of Little Rock and Kyle Lynn Taylor (Laura) of San Francisco, CA; one brother, Robert Taylor (Judy) of Russellville; two sisters, Becca Manatt (Jeffery) of Dardanelle and Nita Kendrick (Larry) of Dardanelle, and three grandchildren, John Aubrey Coleman, Ari Lynn Taylor and Maya Taylor; mother-in-law Mary Chivers, and sister-in-law Jo Ellen Stodola (Mark), both of Little Rock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be open on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Cornwell Chapel with family present from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Kelly Pearson officiating. A graveside service for family will be held at Durvin Cemetery following the funeral. Memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle.
Pallbearers will be Ron's nephews and great-nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Wildcat Hollow Hunting Club.
