Roy Darter Jr., age 87 of Dardanelle died Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home. He was born March 12, 1930 at Ozark to the late Roy Darter Sr. and Syble Howard Darter. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Boyd Darter and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marie Darter of Dardanelle; two children, Jimmy Loyd Darter of Dardanelle, Sharon Farris and husband Mark of Dardanelle; two sisters, Betty Morris and JoAnn Grimes; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Dixon, Rex VanBuren, Ben Garrison, Dean Tinsley, Bill Darter and Kody Farris.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Paul Bartlett.
