Roy Alexander Eden age 90 of Plainview, passed away August 21, 2012 at the Oklahoma V.A. center in Talihina, Oklahoma. Born on July 29, 1922 to Richard Landon and Eldorado "Rado" Anderson Eden at Wing, AR. He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 1942 until Sept. 1945 was wounded in action on Nov. 24, 1944 in Worm Germany. He received one Battle Star and the Purple Heart. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mertie Jane Fisher Eden; brothers S.R. and Elmer; sisters, Ora, Lorene, Edna and Joyce. Survivors include sisters Mary Ellen of Danville; Ruby Nell Moss of California; sons & daughters-in-law Roy and Carol Eden of De Queen; Mike & Pat Eden of Danville; grandchildren Richard Eden of Horatio, LeAnn Eden, Marty Hawkins, Carla Reddin, Gina Ellis, all of Plainview; and Yulanda Morrison of Dardanelle; 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at New Bethel Cemetery with Military's Honors and Rev. Michael Ellis officiating. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home Danville.
