Russell J. Setcer age 76 of Dardanelle fell asleep in death on Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born October 13, 1938 in Easton, PA to the late Neal and Eva Setcer, graduating from Wilson Burrough High School in 1957, where he excelled in the track program. Shortly after graduation he married his child hood sweetheart, Estella Benninger of Slatington, PA. Russell was an ordained minister of Jehovah's Witnessses. Taking his ministry seriously, Russell and Estella moved to Danville, AR where there was a greater need, being instrumental in helping to form the first Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Yell County in 1962. Later he moved his family to Dardanelle and for 20 years he worked as a Circulation Manager for the Courier to support his family and his ministry. One of the great joys of his ministry was helping to build and remodel Kingdom Halls. Cherishing his memory are his wife of 57 years, Estella Benninger Setcer of Dardanelle; a son, Jonathan Russell Setcer of Little Rock; a daughter, Stephanie Faith Salinas of Dardanelle; three granddaughters, Carey Queen of Malvern, AR, Michelle McKinney of Beebe and Alex Salinas of North Carolina; one great granddaughter, Michelle Lee Queen of Malvern; one brother, Neal Setcer Jr. of Kunkletown, PA; one sister, Mary Hodson of Bath, PA and James Setcer of PA, and one sister-in-law, Judith Stevens of Dardanelle. Memorial services will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall, 515 Rock Street in Dardanelle with Bruce Flanders officiating.
