Obituary

Ruth A. VanZandt age 104, a long time residence of Danville passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, Arkansas. She was born January 29, 1908 in Havana, Arkansas to the late Albert F. and Mary Fannie Carpenter Baker. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Church of God of Abrahamic Faith in Walnut Grove, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Jim" VanZandt, a daughter, Beatrice VanZandt and four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Ruth VanZandt of Danville, Arkansas; Charles and Norma VanZandt of Kansas City, Missouri; Doyle and Denise VanZandt of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Charles Fowler, Phyllis and Dr. Compton George and Jo Ann and Joe Taylor all of Danville, Arkansas, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends Services will be Monday, January 30, 2012, 2:00 PM at Cornwell Chapel in Danville, Arkansas with Rev. Tom Sullinger and Dr. Compton George officiating. Burial will be in Moores Chapel Cemetery in Waveland, Arkansas. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the chapel before the service. Pallbearers will be Steve Fowler, Dr. Rick VanZandt, Dr. Lary George, Lance Taylor, Brad Taylor, Richard Harmon and Alex VanZandt. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
