Obituary

Ruthie James age 83 of Danville passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at her home. She was born April 19, 1932, in Etta, Mississippi to late Ernest & Sadie Cupp Jones. She married the love of her life, Jake James Jr. on September 6, 1949, in Marion, Arkansas. She was a retired LPN from the Yell County Hospital. Ruthie was very active at the Leon Millsap Senior Center where she loved playing bean bag baseball. Jake and Ruthie enjoyed woodworking and making crafts and were the Host at the Dardanelle State Park for many years. She enjoyed meeting and making new friends, who visited from all over the world. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ruth Ann Sloan; granddaughter, Sunny Lee Susanne James; brothers, Fred Jones, Ernie Jones; sisters, Birdie Green, Ada Sipes, Lucille James, Sadie Meyer, Grace McCreary, Ernestine McCollum and Molly Jones. Survivors include her husband of 66 years Jake James Jr.; daughter, Martha Sue Wagner of Danville; son, Benny & Regina James of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell of Danville; Brigette & Darrell of Havana; Brandi & Tim Tyra of Danville; Colt Wagner of Danville; Katelyn James of Dardanelle; Bo & Kailey James of Ft. Rucker, AL; sister, Rosa White of Russellville; brother, Paul Jones of Waveland; great-grandchildren, Bailey Mitchell of Dardanelle; Kelsie Via of Havana; Mikey Mitchell of Danville; Trent Cobb of Havana; Logan, Lily and Adalie Tyra of Danville; and great-great-grandson, Trennan Brown of Havana. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
