Sally Beatrice Champion age 98 of Russellville passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020. She was born July 1, 1921 in Rubottom, Oklahoma to the late George Floyd Lowe and Mary C. Langley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's, Harold Smart, and Joe Champion; two sisters; five brothers; a son, Richard Smart and a grandchild, Jamie Ricupero.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Lyndia Frost and Jimmy Smart and blessed with seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

After high school, Sally went to beauty school and owned her own beauty shop for many years.

Sally and Harold were married and had three children, Richard, Lyndia, and Jimmy. They moved their young family to Redondo Beach, California where they raised their kids. Harold worked in the aircraft plants and Sally worked as a hairdresser until the late 1960's when their marriage ended after 30 years. They both went back to the Oklahoma area and Sally met and later married Joe Champion from Grandfield, Oklahoma. They were married for 25 years, they loved to travel and took some wonderful trips, she was happy.

After Joe's death Sally moved back to Corona, California and lived with her sister in a retirement community. This became expensive; she had a small TIA and decided she wanted to be closer to her children. Her daughter and son-in-law bought her a small house very close to theirs in Russellville, Arkansas and moved her there.

My mother loved to play games, any kind, cards, dominos and the grandkids would always say let's go to grannies and play dominos when they were here. Later years were spent making quilts and teaching me to make quilts, she just finished making her last quilt and it lays on her bed now "beautiful".
