Sammie Collins

Sammie Lou Collins age 89 of Hot Springs died July 10, 2017 at Saint Vincent Hospice in Hot Springs. She was born February 18, 1928 at Carden Bottoms to the late Stanley and Ruby Vann Stewart. She was a 1946 graduate of Dardanelle High School. She married the love of her life, J.P. Summers on April 12, 1946 in Hot Springs. She was a home maker and her ability as a seamstress, interior decorator and cook was of the highest standard.  Style and fashion were appropriate descriptions of her everyday life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.P. Summers; sisters, Mildred Tedford, Janet Ryals; brothers, Woodie, James (Bud), John (Shorty) Stewart.

Survivors include her son, Steve Summers of Davenport, Iowa; two granddaughters, Megan Summers and her fiance, Tim Curran of Joliet, Ilinois, Hannah Niziolek and husband Nick of Naperville, Illinois; one grandson, Culley J. Summers and wife Teresa of Plainfield, Illinois; great grandchildren, Peyton Summers of Joliet, Ilinois, William and Logan Niziolek of Naperville, Illinois, Alex, Ryan and Lily Summers of Plainfield, Illinois; special nephew, Ricky Ryals and wife Jennifer of Hot Springs, who were her caregivers for a long duration and many other nieces and nephews. Her family would like to express a special thank you to Ricky and Jennifer for their utmost wonderful care they gave to Sammie.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00P.M., Friday, September 22, 2017 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Bro. Chris George officiating.
