Sherman David Bain, lovingly called papa, age 88 of Chickalah Mountain passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his home. He was born November 24, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Carl and Orra Bain. He was a United States Army Korean Veteran and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Haskell Bain; sisters, Mary Francis, Gonna Booze; one daughter, Sherri Clark and one son, Otis "Pete" Holstein.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Shirley Bain of Chickalah Mountain; seven children, Pete Bain of Ada, Oklahoma, Doug Bain of Ohio, Sherwin Bain of California, Leo Holstein of Pottsville, Buddy Holstein of Florida, Brian Holstein of Chickalah Mountain, Jeanne Enyart of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Tammy Langston of Russellville; twenty two grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Xander Reavis, Shane Holstein, Kevin Holstein, Cory Holstein, Justin Beatty and Aaron Shannon.
