Shirley Pickens Shirley Ann "Fulford" Pickens age 69 of Dardanelle died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born July 27, 1945 at Russellville to the late Willie Chester and Flora Fremont Hoppis Fulford. She was a member of the Mt. George Church of Christ and an elementary school teacher. Shirley loved her cats, watching flowers bloom during the spring and the color of the leaves changing during the fall. Most of all she loved her family, treating her nieces and nephews as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Don Fulford and one sister, Jean Hughes. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Oliver Pickens of Dardanelle; one brother, Charles Fulford and wife Barbara of Missouri; two sisters, Willadean Harp of Missouri, Sue Hughes and husband J.D. of Gum Log; twenty nieces and nephews and many great and great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, November 10, 2014 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Chris George officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014, 2:00P.M. to 4:00P.M. at the chapel. Pallbearers will be David Hughes, Tom Hughes, Rob Duran, Chris Duran, Michael Davis, Charles Harp. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Mt. George Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. George Church of Christ.
