Julius E. "Sonny" Hancock age 73 of Batesville passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Sonny was born September 3, 1941 in Vaiden, MS to the late Thomas & Bessie Mae Shannon Hancock. He was a National Guard & Army Veteran, a Baptist, and a member of the American Legion. His favorite past time was his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Emily Hancock; brother, Charles Ivan Hancock; sisters, Sylvia Lott and Vivian Murphy. Survivors include his wife of 44 years Elaine Rogers Hancock; son & daughter-in-law, Thomas & Lisa Hancock of Melbourne, AR.; daughter & son-in-law Holly & Greg Thomas of Memphis, TN.; grandchildren, Braeden, Alex, and Kailee; sister, Julia Yarbor of Asheville, NC. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Russell Cemetery with Bro. John McCourt officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville.
