Stephen "Sting Ray" Ray Smith, age 69 of Russellville, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born March 16, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charles Ray Smith and Mary Lena Wawak. Stephen graduated Dardanelle High School with the class of 1970. After graduation he married the love of his life Rhonda and together they raised two children. In 1972 he went to work for the Dow Chemical Co. in Russellville which led to a transfer to Lake Jackson, Tx in 1983 and retired after 47 years of service. He loved life and having a good time, always had a joke or could turn a serious situation into a laughing moment. He was a man of great faith and not only loved God but knew Him and it is was evident in the way he cared for others, serving at church through various areas, volunteering at the Brazoria County Dream Center and in missions. He was a true family man, loyal friend and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kent Allen Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rhonda Smith, formerly of Lake Jackson, Texas; two children, Stephen Smith of Lake Jackson, Texas, Christi Rylee (Kevin) of Rogers; three brothers, Robert Smith (Judy) of Dardanelle, Sherman Smith (Bridget) of Russellville, Keith Smith (Nettie) of Russellville and two grandchildren, Matthew Bo Rylee and Jakeb Rylee, both of Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Russellville Christian Center with Pastor Susan Allen and Pastor Craig Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle.
