Tommy Baker

Thomas Lenley Baker age 77 of Dardanelle died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at his home. He was born October 25, 1933 at Malvern to the late Ira Happy Lenley and Aline Petray Baker. He was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ where he was a Deacon for many years. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 36 years of service with the last 10 years serving as Post Master. He also started the Dardanelle PeeWee Football Team. He was a member of the Arkansas Athletic Association where he refereed high school football games for 25 years. He was an avid golfer and loved all sports. He was also a member of the McDonalds Coffee Gang. He was a past member of the Dardanelle Lions Club and was a United States Navy Veteran where he served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Colonel Carroll S. Meek.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kay Warren Baker of Dardanelle; two daughters, Lori Baker, Betsy Baker Case and husband Mark all of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Daniel Case and wife Leighann of Dardanelle, Ty Murdoch and Cort Murdoch both of Fayetteville; two great grandchildren, Bradley Linton and Hayden Case both of Dardanelle and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00A.M., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Dardanelle Church of Christ with Bro. Ralph Weinhold and Bro. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery, Dardanelle.

Honorary Pallbearers: Elders and Deacons of the church, McDonalds Coffee Gang and his golfing buddies.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Dardanelle Church of Christ, Benevolence, In Remembrance of Tommy Baker.
