Tommy Harrison Gooch Sr. age 102 of Danville passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home.

He was born September 16, 1914 in Centerville, Arkansas to the late George Calvin & Mary Lee Holley Gooch. Mr. Gooch was a WWII Army Veteran, in the 159 Infantry 90th Division June 1942-1945 earning the Purple Heart, Good Conduct EAME, Campaign Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Overseas Service Bar, and the medal of Knight in the French Order of the Legion of Honor. He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer. He was preceded in death by his, parents; wife of 62 years, Sible Madden Gooch; infant son; and seven siblings.

Survivors include his children, Tommy & Barbara Gooch II of Danville; Kathy & James Witt of Centerville; five grandchildren, Wendy Blackwood, Cendy McDonald, Larry Don Payne, Tommy Gooch, and Heather Gooch; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren;

Graveside service will be 10 am Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Mt. George Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, October 14, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
