Velda Jennie Williams Steffek age 97 of Russellville, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Dardanelle Regional Medical Center. She was born November 26, 1928 in Tatamagouche, Novia Scotia to the late John Matheson and Sarah Redmond Matheson. Velda loved her cats, working in her garden and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry MacKay, sons-in-law, Jerry Gililland, Dick Gililland and the fathers of her children, Ivan MacKay and Pat McCool.

Survivors include her four children, Julie Gililland, Joan Gililland, Vaughn MacKay (Jolene), Pat MacKay (Lynn); special niece, Jayne Whittle; thirteen grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 10:00A.M. at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery in Belleville with Logan Ferguson officiating.
