Vernis Johnnie McKinzie II, age 51 of Plainview, originally from Waldron, passed away September 17, 2019 in Plainview.

He was born February 25, 1968 in Waldron, Arkansas to Vernis & Billie Jean Gathright McKinzie I. He loved fishing being at home with his wife, kids, grandkids and mom.

He preceded in death by his dad, Vernis McKinzie; grandparents, Vonzula & Johnny McKinzie; grandfather, Bill Gathnight.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Deana McKinzie; mom, Billie Jean McKinzie; children, Crystal & Stephen Fain; John & Clarissa McKinzie; father & mother-in-law, Kenneth & Darlene Taff; grandchildren, Aaron Aidan, Heiden, Zackery, Cheyanne, RJ, Abigail, Landon, Weston and John II; sister, Tina Duncan; nephews, Ian McKinzie and Stevie Duncan; grandma, Alberta Gathnight; and a host of nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
