William Cisco
Webster
November 25, 1934 – August 22, 2024
HIS STORY
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
As we retrace the footprints of William Webster, we can only give thanks for the many lives he touched and enriched along his life's journey. He was a wonderful man of God; he was blessed to enjoy many of God's blessings as a child, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and most of all, a friend.
William Webster was born November 25, 1934, in Havana, Arkansas, to Odies and Laura Surratt Webster. This would begin his journey in life and fulfill God's purpose for his life.
William received his education at L.W. Sullivan High School, Morrilton, Arkansas. He accepted Christ at an early age at Harris Chapel in Havana, Arkansas. He would later join St. Paul Church in Dardanelle, Arkansas, where he served as Deacon. He served his country as a member of the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
On April 22, 1961, he married Willa Marie Bagby, and this union would expand for 63 years. They were soulmates ordained by God. They spent many years traveling from state to state and enjoying the promises of God. He was proud to call her his wife, and she remained right by his side until God said – William, you have been on this life's journey for 89 years; come, take your rest.
William was a family man who believed in providing true values to his children and extended family. He instilled in them hard-working ethics and discipline. His employment career expanded over 50 years and he retired from Firestone in 1995. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren's life accomplishments. He always loved providing for his family and setting a higher standard of life principles for them.
William was a proud member of the Gospel Troops Quartet. He remained a faithful member until his health could not allow him, but it didn't stop him from singing God's songs of praise. He can still be heard singing – "Holy Ghost Fell On Me".
William was preceded in death by his parents, daughter - Shelia Yvette Webster, son - William Ray Webster (March 22, 2024), brother - George Webster, sisters - Novella Williams and Amy Webster, and great–grandson - Kione Webster, along with aunts, uncles, and relatives.
He departed this life on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Baptist Hospital, Little Rock, AR, surrounded by his wife, daughter and family members.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memories – loving wife, Willa Marie Webster; Dardanelle, Arkansas; daughter, Laura (Kenneth) Martin, Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter-in-love, Debra Webster, Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Nora Veasey, Little Rock, Arkansas; sister-n-love; Ruth (Bill) Jones, Ft. Mohave, Arizona; a special nephew/niece, Charles (Delcia) Webster, Belleville, Arkansas.
