Willis Hoover Avey age 89 of Dardanelle passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at Stella Manor Nursing Home. He was born January 16, 1930 in Wetumpka, Oklahoma to the late Willie and Ida Mae Driggs Avey. He was a United States Marine Veteran during the Korean Conflict and he also loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Louise Avey; one brother, Tommy Avey and two sisters, Judy Ann Avey and Betty Bowden.
Survivors include his children, Mike Avey (Julie) of Casa, Susie Faulkner (Eddie) of Pottsville; six sisters, Victorine Noblett, Margaret Langston, Ruth Robinson, Willie Mae Sanders, Ida Carol Chambers, Mary Francis Snider; seven grandchildren, Michelle Battles (Jerry), Mark Avey, Lynne Case (Bo), Adam Runnells (Melissa), Mike Price, Sara Reddell, Seth Faulkner (Leslie); twelve great grandchildren and his caregiver, Brittany Melton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30A.M., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Pastor Scott Findley officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 9:30A.M. to 10:30A.M. at the chapel prior to the service. Burial will be private in Brearley Cemetery.
