Wylie Jones Wylie Gerald Jones age 75 of Delaware died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1939 at Brawley, California to the late Wylie Raymond Jones and Ruth Alice Brown. He was a former member of the California National Guard and was pastor of the Delaware First Baptist Church for 25 years. Wylie loved to play the guitar and spend time with his family and church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Christine Wurst Jones of Delaware; three children, Melissa Smith and husband Jeff of Havana, Mike Jones of Dardanelle, Matthew Jones and wife Amanda of Olathe, Kansas; one brother, Bill Jones and wife Sue of Arizona; twin sisters, Ola Lea Talbert of California, Ona Lou Silva and husband Reggie of Arizona; eight grandchildren, Christa Bartlett, Tyler Smith, Bryce Jones, Sydney Jones, Marissa Sullivan, Tara Zieammerman, Zandra Lalla, Candence Barton and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Delaware First Baptist Church Bro. Jeff Smith and Bro. Howard Kisor officiating. Burial will be in Graves Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the church. Pallbearers will be Johnny Norris, John Farnam, Gary Miller, Bryan Whitson, Kevin Underwood, Kenneth Latham. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Delaware First Baptist Church. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Delaware, Arkansas 72835.
