Steven “Steve” Lawrence Smith age 61 of Plainview passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019. He was born July 15, 1958 at Durango, Colorado to Billy “Bill” Charles and Cleva Ann Jett Smith. He was a member of the Plainview Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, Masonic Lodge #641 and the founder of the Southwinds Iron Indians Chapter and a member of the Iron Indians for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleva Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years and the love of his life, Pam Smith of Plainview; his father, Bill Smith of Belleville; daughters, Stephanie Davenport (Jimmy) of Plainview, Amber Hernandez (Victor) of Jacksonville and 13 host daughters; two brothers, Richard Smith and wife Deloris of Plainview, Tim Smith and wife Janet of Belleville; seven grandchildren, Blaine and Kelsey Smith, Donavan Gates, Cody Davenport, Gage Gates, Paige Meredith, Hunter Davenport, Alex Hernandez; three host grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Plainview with Bro. Stacey Lisenby officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation will be held Sunday, 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Rob Gregory, Mitch Forrest, Chris Mallory, Donnie Donihue, Jason Golden, Rick Lossner, James Paul Westlake, Tim Smith, Richard Smith and Cory Lawrence.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the coworkers of Denali Water Solutions coworkers.
